Whether it’s an acoustic show at a winery or a full-band gig on a prison yard, The Plunders have a proven track record for creating an atmosphere of community around music.  Maybe it’s the melodic guitar solos or heartfelt lyrics. Or, maybe it’s the chemistry of almost four decades together.

The Plunders is a Richmond, Virginia based duet composed of Mark and Suzan Mason. Having met in Mr. Minkowski’s 7th grade homeroom class at Willard Junior High School circa 1976, the Mason’s married in 1982 and they’ve been making beautiful music together ever since.

Through high energy, harmony driven, emotionally engaging performances The Plunders music does what good art should do – connect people. Since 2011, they have been plundering audiences across the United States in state penitentiaries, clubs & pubs, coffee houses, backyard barbecues, biker rallies and even churches. Their brand of classic rock, blues and country infused original music draws from artists they often cover like Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert and Elvis to name a few.

Their new album Still Moving Targets offers a tribute to the battle called romance with a mix of guitar driven blues rock and passion basted ballads. Recorded at Full Circle Recording in Richmond, Virginia, the record features Dan Uphoff (drums) and Matt Seay (bass) from the Richmond’s very own Silver Bullets as well as some added background vocals from their first-born daughter Kendall Little.

Atlantic Records recording artist Matt Maeson (who happens to be their son!) featured Mark on lead guitar at the 2018 Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Forecastle and Sloss music festivals. This was a great follow-up achievement to Mark’s induction into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2015.

As a way of offering back to society The Plunders play dozens of prison concerts every year from Virginia to Florida to Montana. For the past decade they have performed every year at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Daytona Bike Week.

The Plunders are currently booking dates for 2021 and would love to be a part of making your event special.  Check out the contact page to get on the schedule and be sure to sign up for email updates!
